Youth ministry at Faith Bible Church is our church ministering to youth (Grades 7-12) and their families.  The youth have adopted the name "The R.O.C.K.” (Mt 16:18 – “Reaching Others for Christ’s Kingdom”).

Our Motives for Ministry
As in all acceptable ministry for Christ, we desire to glorify God (Eph 3:20) in everything we do!  We try to please Him through the Exaltation of God, the Edification of Believers, the Evangelism of Unbelievers, and the Enrichment of Families.  Everything we do in youth ministry tries to fulfill these four Biblical goals.

Since youth ministry as such is not found in the Bible we want to honor the institutions God has ordained, the family (Gen 1-2; Eph 5-6), the church (Mt 16; Acts 2), and the government (Rom 13; 1 Pt 2).  Our purpose in youth ministry is not to compete with the church or the family but to be a blessing to both of these institutions.  Our young people do not meet as a separate group during corporate church meetings.  We participate in corporate church meetings as a part of the church.  We try to limit the amount of times we meet each week so that we do not take substantive time away from families.

Understanding that youth are capable of much more than normally expected, we desire to challenge our young people as they begin their lives as young adults.  Another important part of ministry to youth is helping them to understand what the Bible says about true salvation so that they do not deceive themselves with false understandings of what it means to be saved from sin.

Our Methodology in Ministry
Our methods in ministry are dictated by our theology (See FBC Statement of Faith).  The doctrines of the authority of the Bible, the person(s) and work of the Trinity, the depravity of man, the doctrines of sovereign grace, the church, and our hope in Christ’s second return all directly influence how we minister to our youth and their families.

Our weekly ministries to youth include Sunday School and Wednesday nights both of which include singing, prayer and preaching.  Other ministries include summer and winter camps, discipleship, mission trips, service projects, an annual parents’ appreciation banquet, and other ministries that fulfill our goals.  Counseling is available for those families who are looking for a Biblical solution to the problems they face.  Since our time together is limited, most social time happens as the youth organize this aspect of ministry themselves.
